Low Carb Old Fashioned


Who doesn’t love an Old Fashioned? You can enjoy this classic drink with a lower carb impact on your blood sugar levels. Voilá! Easy to make and even easier to enjoy when living with diabetes. This might have approximately 4 grams of carbs.



  • dash of bitters
  • RYE whiskey or bourbon to taste
  • 1 sugar cube
  • Orange peel (as much as you want or like)
  1. Add sugar cube to your glass
  2. Add bitters slowly, let them mix with your sweetener until it dissolves
  3. Add ice!
  4. Add whiskey or bourbon
  5. Garnish with orange peel
