An inspirational leader, speaker and collaborator, Deborah works at the intersection of top corporate industries and not-for-profits to create programs with far-reaching impact. Deborah lives in New York City and has three children; Lucas, Eric, and Amanda. She also has a shaggy dog named Sandy.
As the Creative Director for Beyond Type 1 from the very beginning, Sara is responsible for our arresting visual design and branding. Her son Henry was diagnosed with Type 1 at the age of 5 in 2013 and has grown into a powerful ambassador for diabetes issues. In addition to Beyond Type 1, Sara also works for world-class interior designer Genevieve Gorder as Creative Director. She is passionate about foster adoption, Beyond Type 1, good food and humor. She lives on a tiny island in the middle of a big ocean. And she has stories, lots of them.
The Board of Directors is the governing body for Beyond Type 1, providing ultimate oversight for all organization activities and affairs. The Board of Directors work closely with the Staff and Leadership Council to ensure alignment with the organization’s mission and strategic goals, as well as the long-term sustainability and success of the organization.MORE
The Beyond Type 1 Leadership Council serves to support the mission of the organization through active involvement on a variety of committees. The Leadership Council acts in an advisory capacity to the Board of Directors and Staff. Members of the Leadership Council come from a variety of backgrounds, but are uniformly focused on ways that the organization can continue to grow, improve, and better serve those impacted by diabetes with a direct voice in the organization’s activities and priorities.MORE
