Beyond Type 1 was founded in 2015 by Nick Jonas, Juliet de Baubigny, Sarah Lucas + Sam Talbot. Building on their vision, the Beyond Type 1 Board of Directors guides the organization’s growth with support from the Team, and the Leadership, Scientific Advisory, Global Ambassador + Family Councils. Together, these groups work to build Beyond Type 1, and change what it means to live with chronic illness.
Beyond Type 2, a new program of Beyond Type 1, provides a platform for those impacted by type 2 diabetes to share their stories and connect with others who live with diabetes. The program also provides resources on topics from daily diabetes management, discussing it with family and friends and to the mental and emotional aspects of living with diabetes.
At Beyond Type 2, we’re radically changing what it means to live with it. We aim to unite the global community and empower everyone living with type 2 diabetes to live beyond it. With the right resources, programs and the strength of all of our voices, we can redefine what it means to be a person living with diabetes.
We thank our founding partners, American Association of Diabetes Educators, Accu-Chek Guide, FreeStyle Libre, Glucagon and Real Good Foods, for helping us create platform where people living with type 2 diabetes will always know they are not alone.
